Each year in December, The Arc of Washington State releases their Legislative Notebook for People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). In this notebook you will find:

  • One-page information sheets on the issues of importance
  • Budget charts and other data charts
  • Budget requests from Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA)
  • One-page Fact Sheets on each DDA service
  • Summaries of Reports to the Legislature
  • List of all Legislators and their contact info
  • Who’s on which Committees
  • Priorities Lists from various Community Organizations
  • and so much more!

On the first Monday of each December, The Arc holds a virtual meeting for advocates to attend and learn more about the notebook pages. This is a time to gear up for the 2023 Legislative Session!

"Our Disability Roadmap": Lydia X.Z. Brown talks with Samuel Habib about transition @ online

Join Samuel Habib as he speaks with disability justice and queer rights advocate, organizer, and scholar Lydia X.Z. Brown for the third in our year-long, FREE series of webinars: “Our Disability Roadmap.” Lydia and Samuel will discuss a wide range of issues around transition, including inclusive education, career pathways, higher education, advocacy, and much more. They will also take your questions live. Even if you can’t attend live, be sure to register to receive a link to watch the recorded version and you will then be signed up for the entire series. Thanks to our lead sponsors, Mitsubishi Electric America Foundation and the Association of Washington School Principals. The event will last approximately 75 minutes. ASL interpretation and captioning will be provided.

This is YOUR network. Come help us make it all we want it to be and be a part of positive change within the community! There is space for you and your perspectives, lived experiences, and ideas!
